A short walk from the airport’s terminal building and just a 15-minute metro ride from Newcastle city centre, this modern hotel offers a gym, restaurant, bar and on-site parking.

The Britannia Hotel is well situated for visiting the city centre, avoiding the noise and stress of actually staying there. A regular, direct metro link from the airport straight into central Newcastle takes less than 15 minutes. Newcastle Airport’s terminal building is less than 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel’s front door.

With the A1 trunk road less than 4.8 km (3 miles) away, you can visit all the area’s most popular attractions such as the Metro shopping centre, the Angel of the North, Gateshead Stadium and the Northumberland coastline - including Bamburgh, Holy Island, The Farne Islands and Seahouses. Also, within the region are more historical areas such as Durham Cathedral, Hexham, Corbridge and Hadrian's Wall.

Disabled parking spaces are available, with level access to the hotel’s automatic doors. A ramp is provided. There are 2 single rooms on the ground floor that have been adapted to suite guests with mobility problems, including an accessible bathroom with space to turn a wheelchair. Bathing boards available in the bath. There is level access to the bar and restaurant, with space under tables for wheelchairs. Staff have been briefed to describe menus if necessary and special diets can be catered for. The gym is situated on the 1st floor and, unfortunately, does not contain any designated disabled equipment.

Please note that with immediate effect the transfer service from the hotel into Newcastle Airport has been withdrawn. Any bookings already made offering transfers already made will be honoured. The hotel is on site at Newcastle Airport and the terminal building is just 3 minutes’ walk away. If assistance is required getting to the airport, please ask at reception on arrival at the hotel.

By Car (from the south):
- Take the A1(M) to Newcastle upon Tyne and switch to the A1 after Washington Services.
- Follow the signs for Newcastle Airport, passing the Metro Centre.
- Keep following signs to the A696 and then follow the dual carriageway (A696), turning right for the airport at the next roundabout.
- The hotel is on the left-hand side.

By Car (from the North):
- From the A1, follow the signs for Newcastle Airport.
- Take the 2nd exit on the left for Newcastle Airport.
- Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout, following the signs for the airport.
- Follow the dual carriageway (A696), turning right at the next roundabout to the airport.
- The hotel is on the left-hand side.

By Rail:
A direct rail link is provided by Newcastle’s metro system, which runs regularly from Newcastle’s central station to the airport terminal. The hotel is less than 300 metres from the airport’s terminal building and the walk to the hotel should take less than 3 minutes.
